rotterdam

Heart of gold is about Utrecht, the name of fourth largest city in the Netherlands and of the surrounding province. The city is one of the oldest in the country. History goes back to Roman times. Utrecht is in the heart of the country. As many other Dutch cities Utrecht has some canals in the center, of which in my opinion the Nieuwe Gracht is the most beautiful one. It's tranquility is striking. To the east is the Museumkwartier, a small quarter with many historic buildings.

The inner city circles around the Dom, the cathedral, with a height of about 120 meters the highest churchtower in the country and for a long time the highest building.

Utrecht houses the Rietveld Schröder House, built in 1924 and showing the conceptual thinking of the Stijl group of architects, designers and artisans. The house is on the Unesco World Heritage list. Lunetten is a housing quarter in the south. It is more or less typical for many quarters that were built in the ninetyseventies.

The Uithof is the university campus in the east, in the west are the new housing estate Leidsche Rijn as well as the businesspark Papendorp.
