loch tay and environment

My photos from the Scottish Highlands are almost all made in the district of Perthshire. These are the southern Highlands, where rough Glens and Lochs are mixed with tiny villages, small towns and beautiful forests. My series cover the areas around Loch Tummel and Loch Tay, or if you want, the Tummel and Tay rivers.

From the Loch Tummel area I've got photos from Tummel Valley, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl with its castle, deserted Loch Rannoch and the great Killiecrankie woods. From the Loch Tay area there are photos from Kenmore and the nearby Crannog Centre, Killin, Ben Lawers and Glen Lyon. At Fortingall village I've visited the Yew, with an age of 5000 the oldest living tree in Europe. At the Hermitage woods there was the tallest of all UK trees. A little further away I visited the town of Perth and the shores of Loch Lomond in the village of Balloch.
