Actually I would name this special Quiet Isles and Copenhagen, because the capital is a real capital with a metropolitan atmosphere. But also within the metropole there is that laid back way of going: a Danish city amidst Danes. That relaxed style iss what you see in the other parts of Denmark that I visited too, the large peninsula Jutland (Jylland), the large eastern island of Seeland (Sjaelland), the small island of Funen (Fyn) ánd the many isles in between the larger landmasses.

Fyn is het green heart where I especially liked the sunsets along the Great Belt, the little city of Bogense where a small harbour brings associations to freedom and the wide open seas. Odense, the capital of Funen is a lively city, of what only two photos are to be seen in my special.

Jutland is the largest piece of Danish land. Here you can view some of my photos from Arhus, including the Gamle By open air museum, and some seascapes.

From Seeland I've got photos of the western part, around the city of Slagelse where the ancient Viking fortress Trelleborg is the main sight. It was here that a enjoyed a midsummernight the Danish way with a large fire to burn the evil spirits and make way for new life. I hope you enjoy. Click any photo to get to the next one in line.
