suzhou

Suzhou is not Shanghai, although the city is quite near to the metropole. In earlier days Suzhou must have been a very appealing city filled with lush gardens, streams, lakes, temples and pagodas. Nowadays only a few gardens have survived, but the attractivity of these is high. I visited only two gardens and one templecomplex: the Garden of the Master of the Nets, widely considered as the most beautiful of all, the Blue Wave Pavillion garden and the Mystery Temple. the tranquility of the gardens is stunning knowing that also Suzhou has over one million inhabitants.
