Sintra is a small town filled with palaces and castles. It was a retreat for the kings and queens in past times.
Now Sintra has an Unesco protected village center. It's not just the amazing Sintra Palace that makes Sintra.
It's also the more remote placaes and gardens along the narrow winding roads within the Sintra Mountain area.
High up the mountain is Palacio da Pena. It's a mix of Portugese heritage and Disneyworld. It's hard to describe, and because of that very intriguing.
