welcome

Sachsen is an interesting state. Changing from the DDR to the nowadays Federal Germany the state is filled with contrasts. There are large beautiful cities, such as Dresden, charming towns and villages such as Görlitz and Radeberg, castles all over and rolling hills with many narrow curved roads. To the south there is the Sächsische Schweiz (the Switzerland of Sachsen) National Park with the Bastei mountains as a highlight.

The government change is to be seen in the many abandoned large factories. I've shot photos from the Grossmann factory in Grossröhrsdorf. You can see them here. In Görlitz construction works of a new bridge over the river Neisse demonstrate the new times. The bridge should connect Germany and Poland right in the heart of this crossing bordertwin town.
