welcome

For some reason the island of Rügen has been fascinating me for a long time. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the idea that in the times of the iron curtain Rügen was a forbidden island, just for the leaders of the German Democratic Republic. Maybe it was the exotic views or its diversity. Having visited Rügen many things are true. The island is beautiful. The east sea beaches are white washed. The beaches have beautiful chairs and the people are easy going. The towns and villages on Rügen, like Binz, Sellin and Putbus all do have different characters, being it fin-de-siecle or classisist. Great is that many of the old buildings are restored nowadayas. Luckily bad maintained buildings are still standing straight, making the towns and villages real ones, not musea.

One piece of beautiful nature is Jasmund National Park in the northeast with tall white cliffes descending the blue sea. Another one is the small subisland of Hiddensee with gentle rolling hills. You can navigate by clicking about any object in the site. just clicking the photo will get you to the next one in line. I hope you enjoy.
