shanghai - pudong

Pudong, east river, is the new economic heart of Shanghai. Developed within about ten years from farmland to a highrise city with over one million inhabitants and workers. Here in Pudong are at least two of the new attractions of Shanghai, the Jin Mao and Oriental Pearl Towers. These are the new symbols where people like to get photographed with. The first one is in my Jin Mao special, the latter one in my Lujiazu special. In this special on Pudong there are, amongst others, photos of the Shanghai Information Tower, the strangeshaped Oriental Art Centre and the Pudong Expo. More to the east is the Maglev Magnet Levitation Train, with it's maximum speed at about 431 km per hour the fastest train in the world. Sadly the track is only some 35 km long.
