kuala lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital has many faces. In all veins it resembles a city that has grown rapidly over the last decade. Only about 150 years old, the city a few decades later grew because the British here created their administration of the Malaysian Federation. These days both the Chinese and the Malay people make KL what it is. Lively, surpirsingly colorful and with lush tropic vegetation around. As a result KL is a mix of the new era, with the Petronas Twin Towers towering high above the city at KLCC, and the Old Town that has a few historic monuments from the colonial days, Chinatown and Little India. And apart from that there is Bukit Bintang, as a sort of downtown area in a mixture of fahionable department stores and local street-food-restaurants. When I was in KL the 2010 Fifa world cup final was played, and the streets at night flocked with people. Sadmy, my country didn't win the final.
